Headmaster’s Welcome

Headmaster Mr Donal Brennan

Welcome to St Anthony’s School for Girls.  Sister school for St. Anthony’s Boys, Hampstead, we are an Ofsted Outstanding, unique school where academic excellence is achieved in a safe, familiar community.

At St. Anthony’s School for Girls we believe that children reach their true potential when they feel safe, secure and valued as part of the community.  St Anthony’s girls will learn in an environment which is deeply focused on nurturing the individual; where they will enjoy learning and develop a passion for knowledge.

Our individualised curriculum enables us to tailor learning to the needs of each child, therefore enabling success in all curriculum areas; academic, creative and sporting.  Learning is further enhanced through our wide range of extra-curricular activities taught by specialist teachers.

We teach our girls that through hard work and determination, they can achieve great things.  Our girls will grow to be confident and resilient young women, well prepared for the wider world.

If you would like come and visit us, meet our girls and see what life is like please, it will be my pleasure to give you a personal tour.

Headmaster

Donal Brennan is a graduate of Trinity College Dublin. He began his teaching career as a specialist English Teacher preparing children for the competitive 11+ and 13+ for London and country boarding schools. He has been the Headmaster of The Hampshire School, Chelsea for the past five years. This followed from his time as Undermaster at Hill House International Junior School in Knightsbridge.

“Donal believes that school is a cornerstone in the community, where pupil voice is at the centre of all teaching and learning. Through repeated encounters with a listening and curious adult, children learn to trust the value of their insights and opinions. By creating safe and non-judgmental learning spaces children come to believe that what they say truly matters”.

Donal is a practicing catholic, leads on the church choir and has been an active catechist in his parish. He is married with two sons and believes that values of kindness, respect and curiosity are the ingredients to a happy life.

Our Ethos

The social, moral, cultural and spiritual development of children is the most integral part of my role as Headteacher of St. Anthony’s School for Girls. I deem it my duty to help shape young minds into morally and ethically responsible individuals; to inspire children to seek the opportunities in life that will lead them to become valued members of their society.

Academic Success

At St. Anthony’s School for Girls, we teach our girls that through hard work and determination, we can achieve great things. Our small class sizes and individualised curriculum enables us to tailor learning to the needs of each child, therefore enabling success in all curriculum areas; academic, sporting and creative.

Working in partnership with parents

We recognise and value parents as the first educators. Through working in partnership with our parents, we can ensure that our girls thrive and achieve success in all aspects of their school life.

I very much look forward to meeting prospective parents and providing personal tours of our beautiful school building.
