Catholic Life

Actions speak louder than words; let your words teach and your actions speak.” St. Anthony of Padua.

The Catholic Life of St. Anthony’s Girls encompasses everything we do as a community to live out the Gospel Values.

Faith is central to the day to day life of our school and pupils are encouraged to recognise the importance of their own faith, as well as the faiths of others, responding to forms of liturgy and collective worship with respect and reverence.

We seek to provide pupils with a rich liturgical life in that the experiences we provide in school, out of school, in Church and the wider community, and engage and involve pupils, parents, staff, governors and the parish. We also seek to interact with and inform pupils about other faith communities in order to prepare our pupils to take their place in today’s multi-ethnic, multi-cultural society, mindful of the needs of others at home and in the world around us.

We believe in a partnership between home and school and actively encourage parental involvement.

In school, the children help to prepare and participate in masses, acts of worship and assemblies. In both teaching and the daily practice of faith, pupils are helped by the personal example of the staff.

We have good links with our parish church, St. Edward the Confessor, with the parish priest making regular visits to the school as part of our pastoral programme. The school attends mass at St. Edward the Confessor, or with the boys’ school at St. Mary’s Hampstead, on special occasions including Christmas and on St Anthony’s Feast Day. The parish priest also celebrates mass at school throughout the year.
